The Cut

On First Avenue South in Birmingham there is an amazing remnant of railroad tracks that emerge in dramatic fashion from a tunnel into the middle of the street. Apparently it is very rare that a train tunnel like this one still exists and has not been filled in. There is discussion about what this could become-- some kind of park, trail, or other neighborhood place.
